The New York Times Reviews MIT EMBA Program

An article featuring Schneider Associates’ client, the MIT Sloan School of Management’s new Executive MBA (EMBA) program, titled “Betting on an EMBA,” appeared in a recent issue of the The New York Times (online on Friday, July 22nd and in print on Sunday, July 24th). The article discusses the growing trend among colleges in creating MBA classes for current professionals.

Featured in the article is Valeri Cordón, an information technology performance manager for GlaxoSmithKline, who belongs to a select group of students accepted into the new EMBA program at MIT. Unlike usual graduate school students who live close to their school, Cordón lives in Costa Rica and is commuting to Boston once a month for 20 months. Surprisingly, he is not alone– two other students also fly to Cambridge monthly from other countries and 60 percent of the entire EMBA student body lives outside of Massachusetts.
