Julie Hall Discusses Launch Failures on Bloomberg TV
Schneider Associates EVP and Partner Julie Hall was interviewed recently on Bloomberg TV by “Taking Stock” host Pimm Fox following an article written by Joan Schneider and Julie, titled “Why Most Product Launches Fail” in the Harvard Business Review. Hall shared her launch expertise and discussed some of the reasons why 75%-90% of new product launches fail within the first two years.
From start-ups to major corporations, Hall revealed that launch failures can happen to companies of any size – even when the product is well designed. Hall discussed Mosquito Magnet, a great product launched during a West Nile outbreak that experienced manufacturing and supply chain problems. Hall also talked about the confusing positioning of Proctor & Gamble’s Febreeze ScentStories Player, one of Hall’s favorite launch failures. Watch the full interview here.
